“My husband is a proud member of the NYPD,

and I am a small business owner. The schedules we sometimes lead in our careers can be strenuous, but we are so lucky to be teaching our kids the value of hard work and flexibility. We are most flexible in how we create family time in little pockets – most mornings, we all eat breakfast together, most afternoons my oldest gets to go to school and get picked up by either Mommy or Daddy. Our weekends usually fall on weekdays (but the stores and parks are usually MUCH less crowded then, so we love that perk!), and the actual weekends mean lots of kid time with our village of helpers – Grandparents, Godparents, Aunts and Uncles. Our life may be tricky, chaotic, and less than ideal to some, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world.” -Adina
