“It’s funny because as a Speech Pathologist working with children with developmental disabilities, I know how structure and routine is beneficial to all children. My intention for a complete bedtime routine that never waivers, was there. It was, I swear! Here’s reality- there are days when one 4 year old falls asleep at 6pm on the couch in their clothes, exhausted from the day. There are plenty of nights that I’m asked for a “teeth pass” because they’re so tired. On average, the twins get 9-10 hours of sleep on a school night, and Jake gets 8-9 hours. Weekends are later bedtimes depending on the social calendar, but most of the time, they tell me they’re tired at a decent hour.

I go crazy when they don’t eat well at dinner, however, there are times I say its “Ice Cream for Dinner Night”. I’m pretty easy going with stuff like that because I know they eat well in general and they take their vitis. I do like those days where we just jump in the car and head to do something fun, without really planning it out. I guess that’s the extent of me “living on the edge” as a Mama.”   -Danielle
